About the Pops
Since our beginnings, the orchestra and its reputation has continued to grow, expanding the audience and concerts each season. In August of 2013, The Palm Beach Pops family and patrons were deeply saddened by the passing of Maestro Bob Lappin. Bob Lappin was the Founder, Music Director and Conductor of The Palm Beach Pops and, since our inception, worked diligently to establish the reputation the orchestra enjoys today. With the 2014/15 concert season recently announced, The Palm Beach Pops will continue to be a major force in the cultural life of our community.
With a loyal fan base of more than 50,000 annual audience members and generous donations from individuals, corporations and patrons, The Palm Beach Pops’ focus on educating the youth in our community is made possible through our “Music & You” In-School Youth Education Program which is primarily presented in underserved school districts. The goal is to cultivate an understanding and appreciation of music in our children as well as inspire the youth of our community to achieve their full creative potential.
Proud of what the orchestra has accomplished in 23 years, The Palm Beach Pops is committed to fulfilling Maestro Lappin’s legacy well into the future. By preserving America’s musical heritage for South Florida residents, children, visitors, and tourists alike, The Palm Beach Pops continues to fulfill its mission to provide a rich musical experience and youth education via concert performances and community outreach.
